As an electric truck, the Rivian R1T sits in a league of its own.
The F-150 Limited has a modern cabin, heavy on the luxury. All leather, real wood trim and a 12-inch central touchscreen. The attention to detail is, frankly, impeccable from Ford. Feels more like a high-end SUV than something designed to take a couple of sheep to market… because that’s what it is.
Known for its rugged performance, the TRX implies a certain ruggedness in the cabin, albeit cut through with actual comfort. From the suede and leather fabrics to its advanced tech, this brute blends the form with the function, just as you’d expect from RAM.
Chevy’s High Country offers an upmarket interior with premium details and a spacious layout. It has an HUD(head-up display), which you’ll miss more than you expect when it’s gone, and wireless charging (and why, oh why, is this not absolutely standard everywhere? It’s 2024!)
Like the rest of the Denali line, the GMC Sierra version goes heavy on the open-pore wood and nice-smelling leather. We also like the large infotainment system.
Yes, it sounds like a particularly fine vintage from Napa Valley, but Nissan’s Titan Platinum Reserve walks the walk. Quilted leather, wood trim, and just a whiff of the Apple Store about it (only a little cozier and not quite so intimidating) The zero-gravity seats are an offence against common sense – but they are comfy for the long haul.
Ah, the R1T. As an electric truck, the Rivian R1T sits in a league of its own. Not only does it feature carabiners, (for those who like to imagine climbing El Capitan, without actually, y’know…) but it also packs its minimalist design with sustainable materials.
While several of its rivals suggest a certain outdoorsy ruggedness, the Gladiator Mojave goes the whole hog, so much so, you can remove the doors for what we like to call ‘indoor, outdoor chic’, and just a hint of original Bronco. You also get very supportive seats for when you’re bouncing across that desert pavement, dodging Joshua trees.
As the competition heats up, we can expect even more innovation and refinement in the years to come. Whether you prioritize comfort, technology, or off-road capability, there’s never been a better time to be a pickup truck buyer.
From the luxurious leather appointments of the Ford F-150 Limited to the sustainable materials and minimalist design of the Rivian R1T, there’s a truck interior to suit every taste and lifestyle. As technology continues to advance, we can anticipate even more impressive and innovative features in the years to come.
