The wide, muscular stance is further highlighted by bodywork that wraps around seamlessly from side to grille. Right from the drawing board, the Silverado was built to be imposing.
Chevrolet’s Creative designer, Tyler Moffet, said: “We used body-side features to accentuate the fenders. Rounding the wheel openings more so they follow the shape of the tire better will help when customers put on larger aftermarket tires.”
A Legacy of Bold Design
Introduced in 1999, the Silverado took over from the Chevrolet C/K with a sleeker, more rounded design. A few years later, the unique (very) wide front grille became a signature feature. For 2024, Chevrolet stays true to that bold design with a fresh take.
The big grille gets a refresh, while redesigned headlights join the mix. All this sits on a more aerodynamic profile that Chevrolet says improves fuel efficiency without sacrificing the truck’s powerful look.
Functional Innovation
The 2024 Silverado boasts several innovative features that enhance its functionality. The all-new Multi-Flex Tailgate incorporates a smaller fold-out rear step, making getting into the bed, or using it as a workbench or lunch table, a breeze.
Chevy fans will be happy to hear that the now-iconic C-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) are here to stay, a subtle nod to the Chevrolet badge on the steering wheel.

Behind the cab is Chevrolet’s ‘Durabed’ – made of high-strength steel, not aluminium like most competitors. With 12 tie-downs, 89.1 cubic feet of cargo space, and powered tailgate technology, it’s built for the demands of working life.
