"The Scout Terra is electric-only but hear us out"
Set to begin production in 2027 at a new facility in Blytheville, South Carolina, the Terra aims to redefine the electric pickup market in more ways than one.
The Scout Terra is electric-only but hear us out.
It gets up to 350 miles on a single charge, but there’s an optional range extender – a gas-powered generator – that boosts the range to over 500 miles, so you can continue your trials with the aid of proper gasoline.
Built on a proprietary body-on-frame platform with a solid rear axle, the Terra isn’t messing around.
It gets a towing capacity exceeding 10,000lbs and a payload capacity nearing 2,000lbs, making it a formidable contender in the electric pickup segment.
The Terra’s design is a nod to classic Scout vehicles, featuring mechanical door handles, grab bars and tactile switches and dials, providing a hands-on user experience.
Inside, the truck gets modern and retro-themed touches, including a front trunk (“frunk”) that can fit golf clubs or a gym bag.
Scout Motors plans to price the entry-level Terra under $60,000, with potential incentives lowering the cost to approximately $51,500.
This competitive pricing positions the Terra as an accessible option in the growing electric pickup market.
Production of the Scout Terra is set to commence in late 2026, with a full market launch expected in 2027.
The vehicles will be produced at Scout’s new $2 billion facility in South Carolina, underscoring the brand’s commitment to American manufacturing.
